The Blindside

I saw The Blindside last night, and hands down, one of my favorite movies. I tend to like a lot of movies, but this one especially touched me. I’ve been wanting to see it for awhile, but I did not expect to be so moved and entertained in one movie. If you don’t know what it is about, it is basically a true story based on the life of Michael Oher, a famous football player. He was raised with basically no home or family, yet never turned to the dark sides of life. He is probably the sweetest, gentlest big guy you could ever see. And Sandra Bullock’s character, along with her family, takes him into her home and raises him. Sandra Bullock has always been a favorite of mine, but this was clearly her best performance of her career. She was just so convincing and believable as this big-hearted, southern belle. Truly great. Also, the actor playing Michael Oher was terrific, and I couldn’t help but sniffle during many moments throughout the movie. I seriously think this is a movie that everyone can enjoy since it is a mix of sports, laughter and touching moments. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
